About Rock For Riley
Rock for Riley is an annual benefit concert that raises money for Riley Hospital for Children, Indiana's only comprehensive children's hospital. The concert features national music acts performing for large local audiences.
Rock for Riley was created and is managed entirely by Indiana University School of Medicine students. Beyond our involvement as medical students, we are looking to take part in Riley's very important mission of providing the highest-quality medical care to all Indiana children, regardless of their family's ability to pay.
In September of 2004, the inaugural Rock for Riley raised more than $25,000.
The success of Rock for Riley 2005 reflected the growth of the organization since its inaugural event. The sold-out event brought Grammy award-winning rock band Wilco to the Murat Theatre Main Stage, with more than 2500 fans in attendance. The event raised over $223,000 for Riley Hospital, surpassing the $200,000 five-year goal in just two amazing years, thanks entirely to our generous sponsors.
Wilco embodies the future of music. The Chicago natives are known to continually redefine themselves and their sound, exploring raw new musical and emotional territory. The band has made television appearances on Austin City Limits, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Late Night with Conan O'Brian. By bringing an internationally recognized rock band to Indianapolis, Rock for Riley truly made a name for itself as a force in the local music community.
Rock for Riley 2006 stayed true to our commitment to Riley Hospital and our love of great live music. The 3rd annual event took place at beautiful Clowes Memorial Hall in Indianapolis.
Rock for Riley now takes another big step by setting a new five-year goal of $1 million.
Rock for Riley is committed to creating the sponsorship package that best fits each of its valued partners. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of Indiana's children.
